संविधान, गणपती व प्रवीण तरडे

अभिनेता, निर्माता व दिग्दर्शक प्रवीण तरडे यांनी गणेश स्थापना भारतीय संविधानाच्या पुस्तकावर गणपतीची मूर्ती बसवून केली. काही लोकांना याचा राग आला आणि त्यांनी त्याबद्दल निषेध हि केला. कोण आहे हि लोक ज्यांना संविधाना च्या अपमानाचा राग येतो ? हा राग सर्वानाच यायला हवा कि नाही? कि अजूनही या देशात संविधानापेक्षा धर्म व धर्म ग्रंथांनाच जास्त महत्व दिले जाते ? आणि जर प्रवीण तरडे हे त्यांच्या झालेल्या चुकीसाठी जाहीर पणे माफी मागत असतील तर त्यांना माफ करणे किंवा समजून घेणे योग्य नाही का? 

सांगायचंच झालं तर संविधान हे कोणत्या एका जातीच्या किंवा ठराविक सामाजिक समुदायाची मालमत्ता नाही कि जिचा प्रमाण झाला के नाही हे तोच ठराविक समाज ठरवणार, आणि जर अपमान झाला असेल तर तोच ठराविक समाज त्याचा निषेध करणार. या सर्व प्रसंगांमधून दोन गोष्टी तर खरोखरच सिद्ध होतात:

१) बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर व त्यांचे विचार मानणाऱ्या लोकांनाच संविधानाशी घेणे देणे आहे. त्याचा आदर आहे. त्यावर श्रद्धा आहे. 

२) इतर समाजाला संविधान फक्त आहे म्हणून आहे असेच वाटते. त्यांचा संविधान या शब्दाला देखील विरोध आहे. जर हेच कृत्य जर गणपतीच्या मूर्ती खाली कोणताही एखादा धर्म ग्रंथ ठेवून केले असते तर, धर्म ठेकेदारनाकडून होणार निषेध हा हिंसक हि झाला असता. 

सांगायचे तात्पर्य हेच कि अजूनही आपल्या देशात संविधानापेक्षा हि जास्त महत्व त्या धर्म ग्रंथाना दिले जाते जा धर्म ग्रंथांनी धर्म, शास्त्र व समाज या नावाखाली हजारो वर्षांपासून लोकांचे शोषण केले. मात्र ज्या संविधानाने त्यांना माणूस म्हणून जगण्याचा हक्क दिला, त्यांच्या घरातील स्त्रीला समाजात मनाचा दर्जा दिला, अशा संविधानाचा मात्र अपमान सहज सहन केला जातो. याउलट, जो संविधानाच्या अपमानाचा निषेध नोंदवत असतो त्याला मात्र जबरदस्त ट्रॉल केले जाते. 

ज्या हि लोकांना संविधानाबद्दल इतके प्रेम आहे (जास्त करून ते जे बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर व त्यांच्या विचाराना मानतात) त्याही लोकांनी संविधानाला 'धर्म ग्रंथ' एखादे धर्म ग्रंथ न समजता, आपला निषेध नोंदविताना धर्म कंटकांप्रमाणे आक्रमक होणे टाळावे. प्रवीण तरडे आर. एस. एस. चे होते, कि आहेत कि नाहीत, या गोष्टीत न जाता, त्यांनी मागितलेली जाहीर माफी स्वीकारून त्यांना मोठ्या मनाने माफ करावे. किंवा संविधानाचा अपमान केल्याबद्दल जर कोणत्या प्रकारचा गुन्हा नोंदविता येत असेल तर तसे करावे. कारण जर आपण संविधानालाच धर्म ग्रंथ मानून बसलो तर, त्यातूनही आपला कट्टरतावाद दिसून येईल. जशी धर्म या संकल्पेनेची कट्टरतावादने वाट लावली तशीच स्थिती संविधानाची होईल. 

संविधान हा धर्म ग्रंथ नाही. त्याला धर्म ग्रंथापेक्षाही महत्वाचे स्थान आहे या देशात. मात्र त्याच्या अपमानाचा निषेध करताना निषेधाचा मार्ग च त्याचा अपमान आर्त तरी नाही याची काळजी घ्यायला हवी. 

नुकत्याच एका मित्राशी झालेल्या गप्पांचा एक भाग सांगू इच्छितो. तो मित्र रस्त्यावर सिगरेट पित म्हणाला, "संविधान खरंच काही फायद्याचे नाही, या पेक्षा हुकूमशाही बरी." अश्या सर्व मित्रांना हाच एक साधा प्रश्न विचारावेसे वाटते, "संविधान ऐवजी हुकूमशाही असते तर तुला  फुटपाथ वर उभं राहून सिगरेट पिताना पकडून तिथेच चोप दिला असता." हि तीच लोक असतात ज्यांना नागरीक शास्त्र शाळेत असतानाही काहीच समजलेलं नसत आणि आता वयाने मोठे झाले तरी काही समजून घ्याची मानसिकता नसते.

असो, संविधानाचो आदर मात्र सर्वानीच करायला हवा.

तब्लिघी व राजकारण

"कोई बडा धमाका छुपाने के लिये, उस से भी बडे धमाके कि जरुरत होती है". 

दाक्षिणात्य अभिनेता रामचरण तेजा चा "ध्रुवा" नामक एका चित्रपटातील हा संवाद बहुतेक वेळा, बहुतेक परिस्थितींमध्ये त्याच्या वैश्विक सत्याची जाणीव करून देतो. 

सध्या देशात होत  घडामोडीना लक्षात घेता हे तर नक्की म्हणावे लागेल कि सर्व प्रसार माध्यमांना सरकारचे अपयश झाकायचे जणू पे-रोल वर काम मिळाले आहे. 

या वर्षाच्या फेब्रुवारी व मार्च महिन्यामध्ये जेव्हा देशाची कमकुवत अर्थव्यवस्था व्हेंटिलेटर वर जाऊन ठेवली होती, तेव्हाच कोरोना आला आणि सर्व न्यूज चॅनेल्स ने आजारी अर्थव्यवस्थेला कोरोना जबाबदार आहे असे ठोकपणे सांगितले. हा गोगांट असाच चालू राहावा याच पुरेपूर काळजी घेण्यात आली. 

तब्लिघी जमातीमुळेच भारतात कोरोना झपाट्याने पसरला असे चित्र या न्यु चॅनेल्स ने तयार केले. आणि त्यात आपल्या देशातील सुशिक्षित-अडाणी लोकांना 'आंधळेपणाने' अक्षरशः डोस देण्याचे काम केले व्हाट्सअप व फेसबुक वर द्वेष पसरविणाऱ्या पोस्ट्सने. मग काय? गेलेला काम धंदा सोडून, सर्व रोष त्या युवकाने तब्लिघीच्या मुद्द्यावर काढला. इतकाच काय कि बी.जे.पी. ची कार्यकर्ता व भारताची कुस्तीपट्टू ने त्या लोकांना 'सुव्वर' असे संबोधित केले. याच मुद्याला घेऊन भरपूर मित्रांबरोबर चर्चायुक्त भांडणे देखील झाली, मात्र त्यांचं आंधळे प्रेम त्यांना विवेक बुद्धी मान्य करण्यास अडथळा आणत आहे हे लक्षात येत राहील. या सर्व चर्चेला इतकं उधाण दिल गेलं कि देशातील जनता जीवन जगण्यासाठी काय काय जरुरी असते हेच विसरून गेली. 

"मार्च २४ ला झालेल्या नमस्ते ट्रम्प कार्यक्रमामध्ये अहमदाबाद येथे लाखो लोकांचा जनसागर आला होता. त्यांतूनही कोरोना चा भयानक संसर्ग झाला असेलच कि?" अश्या विचारलेल्या 'मोदी विरोधी' मात्र विवेकी प्रश्नांचे त्या मित्रांकडे उत्तर नव्हते. 

आज मुंबई उच्चं न्यायालयाने 'तब्लिघी जमातीला प्रसार माध्यमांनी राजकीय बळीचा बकरा बनविले गेले' असे जाहीर रित्या सांगितले आणि तीन महिन्यापासून माझ्या मित्रांना मिळालेल्या मनोरंजनात्म गोष्टींचा शेवट झाला. ते या मनोरंजनात इतके रमले होते कि त्यांना हेच समजलं नाही कि त्यांचा जॉब गेला आहे. त्यांच्या घराचे ई.एम.आई. पगाराशिवाय देणे अशक्य आहे, येणारी अनेक महिने त्यांना नोकरीची व ठराविक पगाराची हमी देखील नसेल. मात्र म्हणतात ना, "प्रेम आंधळं असतं", हे हि तसच. 

काही दिवसांपूर्वी वाचलेल्या एक मिम आठवलं आणि ते इथं लिहावंसं वाटत:

"स्त्री चं  चारित्र्य, दलितांची गुणवत्ता, आणि मुस्लिमांचे देश प्रेम यावर नेहमीच प्रश्न उठवले जातात व शंका उपस्थित केल्या जातात"

 A Conversation between one of my friends and me .... 

 

“Have you watched Sadak 2 trailer?” 

“No.” 

“It has become the most disliked trailer on YouTube for an Indian movie.” 

“Really?” 

“Yes. I especially searched for it to press the dislike button.” 

“What? But why?” 

“Because these big banners like Bhatt, Yashraj and Dharma have killed Sushant.” 

“But are you sure?” 

“Sure? Huh. It is very much visible. How this small-town boy who made it big in Bollywood became a reason of dangerous competition for those nepo-kids! They don’t want anyone achieving greater heights than their own family members.” 

“Oh …" 

“Sushant proved to be a threat for them.” 

“I see. You like Sushant?” 

“Yes bro. He was a fantastic actor and a great human being.” 

“Which movies of Sushant have you watched in theatre?”  

“Many.” 

“Such as?” 

“Shuddh Desi Romance, M.S. Dhoni and Chhichhore.” 

“Wow. ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ was a Yashraj movie. And out of 12 movies he did, you have watched only three, and you are calling yourself a Sushant fan. Great yaar.” 

“Yes, I am his fan and it doesn’t matter how many Sushant movies I have watched.” 

“It matters. A true Sushant fan would watch ‘Sonchiriyaa’ and ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’ as well. A cinema lover would watch ‘Kai Po Che’ too. Don't you think you became his fan after he died? And that too not because you consider him a fantastic actor, but because you are trying to link other theories such as nepotism and groupism with his death.” 

“You say anything. You are a pakka Shah Rukh or Salman fan”.  

“I am a fan of great cinema, and not of actors. And why suddenly consider me a Shah Rukh or Salman Fan and why not Akshay and Ajay fan?”   

“Because you are talking like ‘those’ people who want to be at that throne forever. They are the product of Nepotism. They are the ones who are running the industry. Yashraj, Dharma. T-Series and all.” 

“Hmm … How many Anurag Kashyap movies have you watched?” 

“Many?” 

“Such as?” 

“Gangs of Wasseypur” 

“Only one? Did you watch that in theatre? 

“No. On Amazon Prime”.  

“How many Salman or Shah Rukh movies have you watched in theatres in Diwali and Eid?” 

(Silence for a while) 

“Ok. You said that you did not even have a look at Sadak 2 trailer, but you went there to press the dislike button. It is more like those three girls who refused to marry you without meeting you and seeing your face.” 

(He laughs) 

“That was a different story.” 

“If you had watched the trailer and disliked it, I would have understood. But what you did is a clear case of ‘unreasonable, irrational hate’. I have been listening to your Sushant puran since a month, and your facts are nothing but whatsapp forwards or Republic TV Debate content. Yesterday, you went all gaga over the fearless Kangana Ranaut and her challenge to the industry. Dude, you are on the verge of losing your job due to sinking economy. Since last two months, you are swiping credit cards for your daily expenses. You are tired of sending resumes and not getting a reply.” 

“Chhod do. Leave it, yaar. You always do personal attack. You are a teacher doesn’t mean that I will listen to you everytime.” 

“I did not ask you to listen to me. You are the one who started Sushan’t topic.” 

“Leave it. Achcha, have you watched ‘Dil Bechara’?  

“I have.” 

“Wasn’t it a great movie?” 

“No. It wasn’t. It was a one-time watch, and trust me, had it been released in theatres when Sushant was alive, it would have not become a box office grosser. You wouldn’t even have gone to watch it.”  

“Jaane de na, bhai. Mere job ka kuch dekh na?” 

“But why do you want to leave this current job?” 

“Brother, there is a lot of partiality. Those who don’t deserve at all have been getting promoted just because either they are closer to the boss or belong to the same caste or state.”  

“Why don’t you raise your voice against it then. You should write a mail to the concerned authority.” 

“Leave it. Who wants to play dirty? I just want to leave this job now.” 

“I have been seeing your FB posts regarding ‘Justice for Sushant’ and asking people to like the post, but when it comes to getting justice for yourself, you are running away. Don’t you think Sushant’s death has provided a timely excuse to losers like you to bring their personal and professional frustration out. Before fighting for Sushant, fight for yourself. Don’t be a hypocrite. Your anger is not against nepotism in movies, but it’s your frustration of your inability to shine in your professional life due to any reason.” 

“You are mad.  People rightly say,  ‘The more you learn and become educated, the madder you become’. Tere brain pe aisa hi kuch effect hua hai. Chal abhi chai pila.”
